Booking a house is easier than booking a hotel once you know the order to do things in. Here is ours.
1. Dates and headcount
Count everyone, including the cousins who might come. Bed counts and the maximum number of guests are published on every home page and enforced at checkout, so the number decides which homes are even in the running.
2. The side of town
Decide what you will drive to most: the hospitals, the parks, the stadium, an office. Our homes sit on the west, northwest and downtown sides of Orlando; the north-side home in Lockhart is the closest to Altamonte Springs.
3. The drive-time table
Every home page lists typical road times, without traffic, to the places people come for. Use the table, not the neighborhood name.
4. The honest notes
Each home page has a short list headed worth knowing before you book: the plain parts, the quirks, the things a photograph does not show. Read it. We would rather lose a booking than surprise a guest.
5. Book direct
For nights and weeks, pick your dates and book the house on this site with live rates, or through our Airbnb and Vrbo listings if you prefer. Check-in instructions and door codes arrive by email before you arrive.
6. A month or longer
For a contract, a relocation, an insurance stay or a season, send us the dates and who is coming. Monthly stays are priced in writing on an agreement with receipts your agency, employer or adjuster can process. How it works has the details.
